Travelling to Venice

Venice’s lovely cathedrals and churches are too numerous to count; the most famous are Chiesa di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari which is a huge Gothic church, and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. If you are not interested in ancient history but are more interested in shopping for souvenirs or related stuff, then some of the most interesting shops are located in two areas that lead off San Marco Square. The history of Venice is a very long and troubled one, and the many monuments are a testament to this fact.

A sector that recently had undergone a huge development in Italy and in Venice specifically, is the bed and breakfast phenomena. Often you can find very cheap accommodations which have access to public transportation a few minutes away from the center of town. Venice surrounding area can be nice and pleasant also, so you could even have a pleasant surprise when you get there. You can find lot of bed and breakfast in Venice, as well as other major hotels and luxury reservations. Thus, you will not have many problems in finding good places to stay. Just be careful not to spend too much… unless, you really want to pass one night in those super-luxurious suites with a view on the “Laguna”!
